Blackface, when it is used to ridicule or denigrate is certainly racist in my view. However, if it is used in other ways, it is not. For example, the movie “Black like me” did a good job of causing some people to understand what it was like to be Black in America at one time and hopefully changed the views of some people to be more tolerant of others. There was nothing racist about it.

If a White couple wanted to portray the President and First Lady at a costume party, would it be racist for them to go made up to look Black? If your answer is “yes”, how do you justify it? If they went without make-up and hung signs around their necks identifying themselves as the President and First Lady wouldn’t it be denying the “Blackness” of the First Couple? In my view, not acknowledging that they are Black (by portraying them as Black) would be racist. Are costumes portraying Black people now off-limits to people of other races? Isn’t that the attitude of those who say that any criticism of President Obama comes from a racist perspective? Objectively think about that for a minute.

Currently there is a huge flap in Dallas over a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, Whitney Isleib, who attended a Halloween Party dressed, and made up, as the celebrity lil’ Wayne. Unless she was trying to ridicule him because he is Black, I don’t see the big deal. In one of the photos she is seen posing with two Black women. (At least I think they were Black – maybe they were in “blackface” too.) The two Black women don’t look uncomfortable in the photo and I would think that if she was exhibiting some sort of racism they wouldn’t have posed with her. And if they thought her “costume” was racist and they went along with it, wouldn’t they be “traitors to their race?” One could say that she was promoting lil’ Wayne and his music. After all, “imitation is the sincerest of flattery.”

I do see it as a big deal that people are trying to make it into something about race and calling for her head. I do see it as a big deal that the media are trumpeting it as though it were racist. I do see it as a big deal that there are those in our society who are always ready to throw the race card. All of those things promote divisiveness between the races. And isn’t that, in itself, racist?

And, for all you offended White people, read Urban Sports Talk and Entertainment to see the views of some actual Black people on this subject.

In order to be fair, I think I should also give you this site written by a charming and open-minded woman.

The “Reverend” Al Sharpton quick study. You would think that after the Tawana Brawley and The Duke LaCrosse incidents he would have learned to practice a modicum of restraint. You might think that, but you’d be wrong. That’s because Sharpton makes his living from gullible African-Americans and the extortion of cowardly corporations. And he has honed his scam to a fine point – naturally, he’s back in the news over Megan Williams. He’s in the news primarily because he can always be counted on to be the first to throw the race card.

In this case, six white people went to jail because they pled guilty to crimes against Megan Williams – a black woman. Plea agreements on the advice of Public Defenders insured “swift justice”, though Sharpton and Malik Zulu Shabazz (why do people choose these goofy names?) complained that it wasn’t enough. Shabazz is a part of the New Black Panther Party and Black Lawyers for Justice . Between Sharpton and Shabazz a virtual firestorm of outrage took place in the gullible African-American community. Too bad it was a big, fat lie.

“She is recanting her entire story,” attorney Byron Potts told reporters in Columbus, Ohio, about his client, Megan Williams, who moved there after the incident. “She says it did not happen. She fabricated it.” ”It sounds to me that there are innocent people held in jail for something they did not do,” Potts said. “I have no idea what convinced them to plead guilty.” He said Williams knows that by recanting her testimony, she could be prosecuted for lying about the incident. ”She still wants to come forward. She’s been fully advised that she could potentially be charged and end up in the penitentiary herself,” he said.

Megan Williams, the “victim” has recanted the entire story, states that her mother and others (I wonder who they could be?) encouraged her lie and will no doubt soon be holding a news conference where a Legal Defense Fund will be called for. She’s already raised over $70,000 from the initial fake hullabaloo. She claims she never saw any of that money. Interestingly, Shabazz acted as attorney for Williams and her mother – I wonder if he saw any of the money? Her mother was acting for her, but the mother is dead now and can’t defend herself. I think an investigation of the whereabouts of the $70,000 should be started.

Even if Megan Williams has the IQ of a sack of okra she understands that as a result of clearing her conscience she may face charges and prison time herself. Her current lawyer has stated that he has advised her of that and that she understands. The race card crown says she is lying now and that begs the question – what could be her motive for lying about lying? Especially considering the penalties she will no incur herself.

I’m not saying the convicted whites didn’t commit crimes. The fact is I don’t know and it wouldn’t surprise me to find out that they did. Maybe some or all of them should be in prison. My point is that if Sharpton, Shabazz and others of their ilk hadn’t screamed racism, marched, rallied and lied to put political pressure on the prosecution and the police there might have been a fair trial.

When will the African-American community wake up and realize that these jerks have no interest in ending racism? They live to perpetuate racism. They make a fine living stirring up the gullible African-American community. They are soul-less, black-hearted fat cats.

How it was then:

How is is now:

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAAGIgqXYt8

Predictably Bertha Lewis. the CEO of ACORN has credited racism for the capture of ACORN employees on video committing numerous crimes, including suborning slavery.

This pattern is disturbing, but without it this site wouldn’t exist.

There is a group of people in our population who are missing the “take responsibility for your own actions” gene. They are genetic mutants. These mutants are not restricted to any particular race or gender. The only thing they have in common is the inability to take responsibility for themselves and their actions. This lack of ability exhibits itself by their constant, predictable response to any criticism whatsoever. This line of defense happens every time, without fail: ”It’s not my fault.”, “You’re a racist”, “I didn’t do it”, “You don’t like women”, and so on, and so on.

Today’s poster child for this genetic flaw is Bertha Lewis, CEO of ACORN who in light of recent events has issued a response to the recent flurry of negative publicity related to the videotaping of ACORN employees (in at least five different offices across the county) freely giving advice on how to game the system, hide illegal activities, run a child-prostitution ring without getting caught, smuggle child-prostitutes across the border from Mexico, evading income taxes and other low crimes.

Ms. Lewis addresses those issues she considers salient point by point and because I think her statement is likely to disappear soon I have saved it in it’s entirety here on racecardism.com.

So lets get on with dissecting what Ms. Lewis has to say about this situation:

we are reinforcing existing procedures to make sure that whenever applicants for services are suspected of engaging in illegal activities, our employees terminate the consultation and notify their supervisors.

Perhaps you could consider working with law enforcement to turn in slavers, pimps and other criminals who are trying to game the system. But I guess that might be a problem because once word got out that ACORN was working with law enforcement your clientele would drop significantly…

Second, the ACORN Advisory Council, a group made up of prominent national leaders in the non-profit and business community, is recruiting a respected individual to conduct a thorough top to bottom review of our intake and service delivery programs. We are pledging to adopt whatever reforms are recommended by this process.

Did you say “respected individual” Bertha? Respected by whom? Please explain how an “individual” would conduct “a thorough top to bottom review of our intake and service delivery programs” for 360, or so offices. What about engaging a nationally known accounting firm? I’m pretty sure any number of them would like the publicity associated with such a review and do it pro bono.

problematic but isolated incidents

Well, they are certainly problematic, but you have no way to know they are isolated. What you do know is that in five out of five successful attempts, ACORN employees behaved like criminals themselves. In fact, they are criminals unless “aiding and abetting is no longer illegal”. And they were caught on tape just like the pedophiles.

But these attacks are about more than ACORN: they represent an attack on the poor and communities of color

Say hello to the race card. The exposing of criminal behavior by employees of ACORN is racism in your mind. I suppose you would have us think that when the videographers entered that they asked to be “counseled” by an African-American. They chose African-Americans in order to discriminate against them – right? Or is it that the offices are predominantly staffed by African-Americans. If that’s the case, why? There are lots of unemployed, liberal whites who would work there. Is ACORN discriminating against white people?

Over the past week, Fox has run videotapes produced by James O’Keefe, a right-wing activist, in which O’Keefe and a female colleague, pretending to be a pimp and a prostitute, asked ACORN Tax and Benefit Center and ACORN Housing Corporation employees in several cities for assistance in getting tax preparation assistance or a mortgage loan. O’Keefe and his colleague indicated that they needed this assistance to support their prostitution business, which included bringing underage girls into the U.S. Using a hidden camera, O’Keefe captured the ACORN and ACORN Housing employees offering suggestions and advice.

You say “right-wing activist” as though there’s something wrong with activism. Or is it only right-wing activism you have a problem with? Hmmm. Don’t you describe yourself as an “activist”. Aren’t you proud to be an activist? Didn’t our President start out as an “activist?” So, I presume your problem is with being “right-wing?” Aren’t you and ACORN “left-wing?” You seem a bit of a hypocrite to me Bertha. What you’re really saying as that you don’t want to be investigated by anyone who doesn’t agree with you. So lets be clear here: if you have to be investigated at all, it must be by someone who agrees with your agenda. Otherwise it’s racism.

We were appalled when we viewed these tapes: these ACORN and ACORN Housing employees clearly violated the standards and values which we insist that our employees follow, and they were immediately fired. However, here is what you should also know about this episode:

“However?” Stop right there. You were doing ok until you said “however.” We all know that after that word comes a rationale for bad behavior or some sort shifting of blame. Take responsibility. Resign Bertha. You head a criminal organization. The buck stops with you. Do the right thing and fall on your sword. No, that wouldn’t occur to you because you are the poster-girl for the “take no responsibility” crowd.

a small percentage of our employees occasionally engage in illegal or unethical behavior. We hope you will agree that our response to these situations is the appropriate one: when we uncover such behavior, we take disciplinary action; and we continuously strive to improve our training and management systems to root out and prevent such behavior in the first place.

How about being pro-active? How about telling us of occasions where ACORN has uncovered “such behavior” and acted on it? How about giving us some examples of what ACORN has done”to root out and prevent such behavior in the first place?” Even just a few legitimate examples would go a long way towards your credibility. In a situation as dire as the one ACORN finds itself today, “just words” doesn’t get it. Now is the time to pull out the big guns of proof positive and quell the tide of negative opinion.

Crucially, no tax or loan documents were prepared or filed. What was captured on tape was an initial intake interview – in no case did ACORN or ACORN Housing staff prepare or file any official forms or documents seeking tax refunds, loans, or any other benefit. Systems and procedures to ensure quality control worked, and no actions were taken beyond these interviews.

Well Bertha I’m going to have to call you on that one. How exactly did the “Systems and procedures to ensure quality control” work? Did you through due diligence determine that it was all a big ruse? I doubt it. No Bertha I think what happened is that the videographers never followed through on applications, etc. because they are not criminals. So what you really mean to say is that either your “systems and procedures” failed to expose the exposers or you don’t actually have the “systems and procedures” you refer to. At the risk of being called a racist here I’m going to have to go the Joe Wilson route – you lie.

As far as we have been able to determine, O’Keefe’s team tried the same stunt in at least seven other ACORN and ACORN Housing offices, and in all except the episodes captured on film they were sent packing. In Philadelphia, our staff were sufficiently suspicious of the intrusion to file a police report.

Why didn’t you list the “at least seven other ACORN and ACORN Housing offices”? That might have given some credibility to what looks like an exaggeration at best. ”sufficiently suspicious of the intrusion to file a police report”. Please produce the police report. Did your employees file a report of the child prostitution? The slavery? The smuggling of illegals? What was the basis of the report? Enquiring minds want to know.

Many who have seen the videotapes have told us that they believe the tapes are doctored: questions appear to be added in voiceover, there are breaks in some of the action, etc. We have sent a letter to Roger Ailes, the President of Fox News, asking for the original copies of the tapes so we can examine them ourselves. And regardless of the veracity of the tapes, it is clear that O’Keefe was egging on and entrapping our employees, rather than engaging in reputable journalism.

Any experts? Any proof? Right about now it would be good if you could produce a videotape of the “crimes” you allege. I didn’t think so. ”egging on and entrapping our employees” Oh. You mean like when the police put fake hookers on the street and then arrest those who solicit them? Stop dodging responsibility for the obscene behavior of your employees. Own up to it, deal with it, take your licks, make actual improvements and move on. Stop whining because you got caught – its unbecoming for the head of such a large organization. Tony Soprano wouldn’t whine.

The actual videotaping may have been illegal. Maryland law requires both parties to consent to any taping, and on Friday the Baltimore Sun reported that the MD States Attorney is considering filing charges against O’Keefe for violating the law.

If the videotaping was illegal does that change anything your employees did? If the videotaping of the Rodney King beating was illegal would that have changed anything?

O’Keefe’s intent then, as it is now, was to entrap an organization whose mission he is ideologically opposed to, and masquerade his efforts as investigative journalism rather than the propaganda videos they are.

Who else is going to expose your criminal organization if not those who disagree with you? The mainstream media? Please! They wouldn’t even run the story days after you were exposed. They are afraid of being called racists by you and others like you. Those weak sisters would only mention it after FOX had the courage to run with it.

Much of this has to do with the right’s assessment of ACORN’s effectiveness: we play a critical role, on a massive national scale, in organizing low income people of color to participate in elections and to campaign in support of a progressive agenda. But let’s also be clear: much of this has to do with race. The attacks on ACORN are part of the same rightwing machinery that has been attacking President Obama by calling the President a racist, that has been mobilizing all-white tea parties to rail against immigrants, and that has attacked Eric Holder, Sonia Sotomayor, and, with more success, Van Jones. We have seen a conscious strategy from the right to divide and conquer the nation using race, and the attacks on ACORN must be understood in this context.

So there it is again. Very clearly. It’s all about race. Not child-prostitution. Not income tax evasion. Not slavery. Not illegal immigration. Not gaming the system. RACE! The racist in this scenario Ms. Lewis is you. You and those like you who are unwilling to take responsibility for your own actions and are only interested in deflecting criticism by crying racist. Shame on you.

“I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man,” Carter said. “I live in the South, and I’ve seen the South come a long way, and I’ve seen the rest of the country that share the South’s attitude toward minority groups at that time, particularly African Americans.”

“And that racism inclination still exists. And I think it’s bubbled up to the surface because of the belief among many white people, not just in the South but around the country, that African-Americans are not qualified to lead this great country. It’s an abominable circumstance, and it grieves me and concerns me very deeply.”

His remarks are a poignant illustration of the fact that any criticism, whatsoever, of any black person is now considered to be racist.

When did it become racist to criticize the policies, proposals and practices of The President of the United States?

Don’t people see how divisive this constant overplaying of the race card is? Now, it’s laughable. And as a result people will begin to instantly disregard any accusation of racism whether its true or not. And in so doing, fail to credit genuine racism. The loser in this stupid game is not the racist, it is the victim of actual racism.

Last week, ACORN was exposed a number of times giving advice on how to game the system to get a house. How to evade income tax. How to claim underage, illegal aliens as dependents – in effect suborning slavery. Naturally, the response included charges of racism on the part of the videographers, FOX News and anyone else who had a part in exposing the criminal behavior so rife in ACORN.

Just like the child who yells “that’s not fair” whenever he doesn’t get what he wants, black racists cry racism.

More from today’s news. Fox News:

The White House on Sunday dismissed a claim by New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd that administration critics like Rep. Joe Wilson, who called President Obama a liar during his health care address to Congress, are motivated by race.

That won’t stop bigots like Maureen Dowd though.

This is an excerpt of a Statement from Margaret Williams, Board Member, Maryland ACORN

The larger pattern of Fox’s irresponsible actions here is the real news. From Glenn Beck calling President Obama a racist, to Fox inciting racism and threats of violence with the Teaparties, to Fox unleashing a hit job on ACORN the day after an inspiring Presidential healthcare speech before Congress, Fox has long since abandoned any journalistic pretense. It is clear and not coincidence that FOX continues to attack and divide our nation along racial lines. We believe our country is beyond this type of attack and call on all Americans to demand that FOX stop its racist coverage.

The sin FOX committed was to air clear and unequivocal coverage of ACORN employees (on two recent occasions) interviewing and advising two people posing as a pimp and his prostitute. The “prostitute” was interested in buying a house in order to ply her trade. She also said she needed space for some Salvadoran teenagers to live while they worked as prostitutes. She stated that she had no tax return information to provide in applying for the government loans because she doesn’t pay taxes.

The “advice” given by the ACORN employees included how to categorize the prostitutes job classification as entertainment. Then how to claim the CHILD prostitutes as dependents – but only three of the thirteen anticipated in order not to draw attention from the IRS. Also how to deduct condoms, clothing, jewelry, etc. from the falsified tax return that she would have to file.

The ACORN employees are, of course, black. The actors were white.

Naturally, exposing the criminal behavior of the ACORN miscreants is racist in the mind of Ms. Williams who is herself an ACORN Board Member – she speaks for ACORN.

The following By Ken Blackwell for NRO:

In Ohio, where as secretary of state I oversaw elections for eight years, ACORN has been busy. One ACORN man in Reynoldsburg was indicted on two felony counts of voter fraud, and another was indicted in Columbus. Other such problems surfaced in Cuyahoga County, where criminal investigations are ongoing.

It’s not just Ohio. ACORN personnel are facing criminal charges in over a dozen states. In Washington State, for example, seven ACORN leaders had felony charges filed against them for voter fraud.

Watch the FOX coverage for yourself and tell me where the racism is – apart from the racism of ACORN that is. Or better yet, watch the uncut footage at BigGovernment.com
